Our Younger Preschool Room | 32–36 Months
Our Younger Preschool room is a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can grow in confidence, develop their independence and become enthusiastic, curious learners.
As children approach their third birthday, they are becoming increasingly confident in expressing themselves and are eager to explore, question and discover. Our experienced practitioners provide a wide variety of engaging experiences that encourage children to learn through play and develop skills at their own pace.
Children have opportunities to enjoy creative activities, imaginative play, construction, puzzles, sensory experiences, stories, music and outdoor exploration. We encourage children to follow their own interests, make choices, experiment, solve problems and develop their ideas.
Communication and language are a big part of everyday life in our Younger Preschool room. Through conversations, stories, songs, group activities and play, we help children develop their vocabulary, confidence and ability to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Practising key skills
Developing independently
We also encourage children to become increasingly independent in their everyday routines. From managing their own belongings and helping to tidy up, to dressing themselves, using the toilet and making choices throughout the day, we support children to have a go for themselves and celebrate their achievements.
Developing friendships and positive relationships is an important part of this stage. Children are encouraged to play together, share ideas, take turns, listen to one another and develop an understanding of kindness and respect.
Our Younger Preschool room provides a fun, nurturing and engaging environment where children can build confidence, develop independence and discover a love of learning, ready for the exciting next stage of their nursery journey. They also have access to their own kitchen area and the outdoor playground.
Celebrating your child achievements
Getting ready for Primary School
When your child starts to get ready to go to Primary School they will be provided with a ‘transition sheet’ this will detail everything about your child and their development along with their records through nursery.
Your child’s teacher will visit our setting and observe your child and the key worker will also have a chat with the teacher. We hold a graduation in the summer to celebrate all your child’s achievements, they receive a graduation cap, medal and certificate while also being able to participate in all the fun games and activities set out around the outdoor area.
Key worker
Your child will be allocated a Key Worker who you will be introduced to you on the first settling in session. The Key Worker will have a chat with you to share information about your child, which will enable them to better understand your child’s needs and to begin forming a relationship. All of our Key Workers have a wealth of experience and up to date knowledge in all aspects of the EYFS. They will provide advice, guidance and support you with anything you need.
